Happy is the man that findeth wisdom

Quote from “The Providential Perspective “
Faith or True Religion – “men who fear God”
The fear of God is an essential qualification for a Godly official. What are men like who fear God? Matthias Burnet explained in an election sermon in 1803 that they are, “men acting under the belief and awe of God as their inspector and judge, to whom they consider themselves accountable for their conduct and whom they fear to offend.”!This is not just saying “I am a Christian,” simply going to church, or culturally embracing Christianity, but it is having a reverential fear of the Al- mighty. Many today think that the fear of God is of no matter for our rulers, and even see it as a negative factor. Rev. Burnet said it well:If God be such a being, as both reason and revelation declare him to be, an omniscient, holy, just and all-powerful being, whose eyes are in every place, beholding the evil and the good, to punish the one and reward the other according to their character and deeds, then certainly, the fear and awe of him must operate as the greatest restraint from that which is evil, and the most powerful incentive to that which is good, and he who is truly actuated by this principle, will never give his voice or influence to pervert justice or support iniquity. But the man who does not believe in the being and providence of God, or is not actuated by the fear and awe of him, has in many cases no bond or restraint upon his conduct, and therefore is not fit to be trusted with a nation’s weal, which he will not scruple, whenever he can with impunity, to sacrifice to his lust or ambition.

If you don’t have a reverential fear of the Al- mighty than it’s very unlikely you will follow God’s design.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Proverbs 3:13–1

When you don’t follow God’s design it is call sin and sin leads to brokenness.

Brokenness comes in many ways metabolically unhealthy, mental health, relationship problems, searching for meaning and purpose in life and other issues.

“do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?  For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” Corinthians 6:19-20

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1

That should be enough reason for us to take care of our body.

Why should you take care of yourself, because we do not live to ourselves or die to our self. If you get sick you will need help from family friends or someone. If you have insurance you pass the cost to the policy holders, if you are on government assistances you pass the cost to the tax payers.

Do you want to be a burden to others?

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord.
Colossians 3:23

Only metabolic health has the answer—and the prevention. The brutal truth is, our medical care system is not built to broadcast that answer, much less comprehend it. The system addresses only the symptoms of metabolic health problems as they arise, rarely if ever resolving the underlying causes.

Taubes, Gary. The Case Against Sugar (p. xi). Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.
AUTHOR’S NOTE The purpose of this book is to present the case against sugar—both sucrose and high-fructose corn syrup—as the principal cause of the chronic diseases that are most likely to kill us, or at least accelerate our demise, in the twenty-first century. Its goal is to explain why these sugars are the most likely suspects, and how we arrived at the current situation: a third of all adults are obese, two-thirds overweight, almost one in seven is diabetic, and one in four to five will die of cancer; yet the prime suspects for the dietary trigger of these conditions have been, until the last decade, treated as little worse than a source of harmless pleasure. If this were a criminal case, The Case Against Sugar would be the argument for the prosecution.

Discipline is doing what needs to be done, even if you don’t want to do it. Unknown

“True ignorance is not the absence of knowledge , but the refusal to to acquire it.” —Karl Popper

Dr. Ben M. Bogard Wrote:
Paul says, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; THAT WE MIGHT KNOW the things that are freely given to us of God, which things we also speak not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the HOLY SPIRIT TEACHETH”.
1 Cor. 2:12,13

Therefore when we hear the teaching of the New Testament, we hear the Spirit speaking to us; and when we OBEY what it teaches, we walk after the Spirit and are the children of God, saved and sanctified. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” (Rom 8:14).

In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:26-27

Please listen to this quote very carefully from Dr. Daniel Fountain,. God, Medicine, and Miracles

“Dr. Karl Menninger, an eminent psychiatrist, wrote a book about this entitled, Whatever Happened to Sin? In reality, that is not the question, for nothing has happened to sin. It remains as powerful as ever. It is we who have changed. We would like to believe that disease is just a physical phenomenon that happens to us and has nothing to do with how we live, think, feel, or relate to one another. Nothing could be further from the truth.”

Quote from Dr. Daniel Fountain in the book God, Medicine,
and Miracles

He said.
“It took years for me to learn that behind almost every
case of “gastritis” was chronic anger, worry, fear, a
broken relationship, or serious grief. A half a ton of
sodium bicarbonate could never heal the real problems
causing gastritis, for they lay beyond the scope of our
biomedical model.”

You can choose to sin, but you can not choose the consequents of sin.

If you want to know how your life style effects you health you should read
God, Medicine and Miracles by Dr. Daniel Fountain

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James 1:14-15

So, if we want to try to prevent disease, we will need to change our lifestyle.

If you want good health please listen to Proverbs 4:20-24
very carefully.

My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my
words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them
within your heart; for they are life to those who find
them and health to one’s whole body. Above all else,
guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk
far from your lips.

To change our lifestyle we need to have a change of heart.

Guarding you heart means avoiding evil company and thoughts. Proverbs 3:7-8

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person. Mark 1:21-23

If you google the effects of high-sugar and carbs diet you will find these effects on your health.
— higher blood pressure, inflammation, weight gain, diabetes, fatty liver disease, insulin resistance and to many others to list, all linked to an increased risk for heart attack and stroke,”

In the 1800 obesity was about 1% in the 1900 about 5% in 2020 a little over 40%

Sugar and carbs are like a drug and are habit forming or addictive to most people.

James 4:17
Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again,
”The Lord will judge His people.”
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:26-31
